Top News12.11.2013 09:34 Battalion designed by Azerbaijan for joint operations with NATO to be improved to level of brigade next year
Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The activities on improving Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) battalion designed by Azerbaijan for joint operations with NATO forces to the level of brigade will be completed next year, Defense Ministry told APA.
Self-assessment training of the battalion was held in October this year. It demonstrated a high level of readiness. The second-level assessment of the OOC battalion will be held by NATO experts in May, 2014. The activities on improving the battalion to the level of brigade will be completed by the end of 2014.
Peacekeeping battalion of the Armed Forces is planned to be included in the composition of a new brigade.
OOC battalion was supplied with modern communication facilities, equipments, as well as weapons and military equipments owned by the member countries of the alliance to jointly operate with NATO forces.
