Observersí Day held in desert training on NATO Assessment
Baku. Rashad Suleymanov Ė†APA. Observersí Day was held in the desert training on second-level assessment of the infantry battalion of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces within the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept ongoing in Garaheybat Training Center, Defense Ministryís Press Service told†APA.
Visiting the polygon to follow desert phase of the training, Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Defense Ministryís administration, as well as Chief of General Staff of Croatian Armed Forces, Drago Lovrić, Deputy Commander of NATO Land Forces based in Izmir city of Turkey, Lieutenant-General Gordon Messenger, military attaches of more than 20 foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan visited the Headquarters of the Training Center.
Firstly, the visitors were given general information regarding the front operation base at tactical operation centre and introduction briefings about the activites carried out in accordance with the training scenario were presented to the guests.
Thereafter, Zakir Hasanov and the visitors came to the tactical operation center, got acquainted with the readiness of personnel at the level of brigade, battalion, and detachment, and followed the practical part of desert training.
According to the scenario, nearly 900 personnel, 100 military equipments, and 4 helicopters involved in the training fulfilled 117 criterias on 5 fields, and carried out 752 tasks of activity estimation.
The trainings will end on May 8.
